1,2....Step
I started dance lessons when I was only 18 months old! Before I was born my mum use to dance, So I guess that's where my inspiration comes from. I've been to several different dancing schools, & performed in many shows and passed exams. When I was younger, I'd go to see the christmas pantomines every year, which I longed to perfom in. As I got older I always said I'd love to be a dancer in a pantomine. But never put myself in for them.

Pop Idol Audition 2001
I sent off the application form, which I downloaded from the internet and filled in all my details & included the best picture I could find. The 19th of July 2001 was an exciting day, This was the day I recieved a letter from "Pop Idol" inviting me for an audition on the 15th of August 2001 So as you can imagine from the day I got the letter til the actual date of my audition was unbearable. I was excited and nervous but chuffed to bits that I had been given the chance to be a "Pop Idol" and to fulfil my dream to sing professionally. So on the day of my audition My mum's friend drove myself, & my mum to Manchester We set out at about 9:30am ish and my audition was at 12:00pm. It said clearly on the letter not to be late, or you would miss your chance. We were still driving around at 11:45am in Stockport By now I had given up hope that we were going to make it in time. We arrived at 12:41pm almost 3/4's of an hour late. I was so lucky, the judges had had a late lunch and hadn't even started & also that everyone's audition time was 12:00pm. I was given a sticker to wear with my number on it and then we were called down in groups of 10. My Number was 1277. I wasn't nervous by this time, I was feeling pretty confident. To cut a long story short I went in and did my stuff, I sang "Eternal Flame" and the judges were not Nicki Chapman, Simon Cowell, Dr Fox or Pete Waterman, and Ant & Dec were not there either! There was just 2 judges a man & woman! Either way the judge said he wanted to hear more range of my voice, but he said I had a good voice and to keep trying & come back next year! That was ok for me. I was proud that I even got an audition & it was a great experience I will never forget. When Pop Idol was first shown on the Saturday I was looking out to see if I was on, but it wasn't until the next evening I was on!! It was literally a 2 seconds clip, but I couldn't believe all the people that saw me, I had so many people asking if I was on "Pop Idol" So there you go, that's my experience of "Pop Idol"
